The Gift of Effort

My best friend and I have this little ritual that a month before each others' birthday we'll be giving each other top 5 list of gifts that we want to receive. Here's my list (as far as I remember):

  1. Magazines with my favorites on the cover; doesn't matter what date it is issued.
  2. stuff toy, Ted
  3. Any Jane Austen book.
  4. shoulder bag
  5. nail polish (I want to know what color am I to her)
She picked the first one. Here's what I got.

(Clockwise) All are from Booksale
Vogue November 2012- Rihanna
GQ August 2012- Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Wired January 2013- Jimmy Fallon
Complex August/September 2012- Rita Ora

Her effort of searching for these are most counted.

Before reading any book or magazine I do scan it first I was so surprised to cross this part in Vogue.

Two awesome guys who trashes politics as always.

My two favorite late night show hosts from present to future. Jimmy Fallon will be replacing Jay Leno next year in The Tonight Show which will make Seth Meyers the new Late Night With Seth Meyers. I just wish
that I can watch it on tv and stop waiting for their site to update.

The gift of effort is the most awesom gift of all for everyone to receive it just says that that person loves you and cares for you and what you really like. So thank you to my best friend for these. I'm starting to read them at night with my usual glass of milk and over breakfast with coffee, for a good morning and a good night sleep.

I'm having my low-profile birthdays after I celebrated my 15th. It's liberating to know those people who would save 30 seconds of their lives just to type and send a birthday message for you. Here's to the people who knows my birthday and those who believe that I'm only 17.

Thank you notes, inspired from Late Night with Jimmy Fallon

Thank you, for not relying on facebook about birthdays.
Thank you, for taking time tweeting, posting, texting, and not instagram-ing.
Thank you, for not using instagram to greet me because we all know your gonna post my most embarrassing photo.
Thank you, to my uncle who paid the food bill although he didn't have a taste of it.
Thank you, to my mom who bought the cake and ate it without lighting the candle
Thank you, to my dad who greeted me through text although we live together.
Thank you, to my best friend for being so proud of her effort in searching a gift for me.
Thank you, to my best friend (again) for giving 4 hours of her day with me and saying all the foul words in the dictionary. (it's coll though)
Thank you, to those who greeted followed by "libre naman" (treat me).
Thank you, to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon for being my inspiration for this.

For those people who didn't greet or address anything for me, I don't care it was expected that not all will be able to remember my birthday.

17 should not be the same as 16, I have a plans to make my year great and hopefully, scrub off 10% of my bucket list. I have 11 months 27 days to do it before the 18 come. And yes, it will be a low-profile birthday as well. So here's to me.
