Chapter 2: Projects

The choice is you report or you do projects. Most of my subjects include reporting and less projects. Here are some of the projects that we worked on this past semester.

This projects is a requirement to each subject but like I said most are reports. Here are the subjects that requires reports.

1. Computer Maintenance: Mostly are for the hardware of the computer.

2. Computer System Administration: This subjects required us to report in English which is not a struggle to me considering that I was the last to report.
3. Operating System: Unfortunately this became complicated and our professors ask us not to do it anymore.
4. Speech Communication: Exploring the wide array of communication.

The subjects that requires simplicity. HAHA! Just pure listening with understanding.

1. Database Management System
2. Mathematics of Investment
Last here are those that required projects.
1. Computer Programming (VB.net): Major subject, this includes making a program using the visual basic. It's pretty neat and simple yet complicated. My classmates normally start working on it by 8AM and be done after 30 minutes or more, with errors but you can do it in no more than 10 minutes, just learn to analyze the logic of each code. Here is a sample program:

This will be the most simple program to make, for a more complex one, you need to analyze the LOGIC of the codes in order for you to make the codes work otherwise, there will always be an error.
2. Physical Education: Surprise! Surprise! This was the project that made all of the complications in the world. 1st of all, it's kind a lame, to have a project in physical education because IT'S PHYSICAL EDUCATION! Normally, I would go nuts, if I hear what the sport that we're about to do this semester but this semester I was glad that we didn't do sports but instead we got stuck doing 1 project that made our section divide.

(Left: Sample, Right: OUR WORK)
What made this complicated? Here's why:

  • We did this in one house. The most complicated reason of all, you see not all of us live in the same place, some of us would take 1-3 hours from home to school just for travelling. So not all of us came to dedicate our work for this.
  • Weather. I don't the name of the storm that came the week that we're about to make this project. It was a wild one that made us refuse to come (that made our parents refuse for us to go).
  • Contribution. We're about to fill the other stuff that they bought and the NINE-HUNDRED-EIGHTY-PESOS cab ride.
Here's the story, as I said we dis this in one house and that is residing at Fairview, Q.C. and we're suppose to pass this in a week, it's suppose to be depart to Manila as soon as it's done. The contribution, supposed to be 40-pesos each but since not everyone came to the location because of the weather, the contribution didn't go fair. Your contribution was judged based on how you helped, how many times you came, and if you did anything at all. They say it's not fair that made the argument bigger and that's when we knew about the NINE-HUNDRED-EIGHTY-PESOS cab ride. And that argument closed before being opened. The side of the accused said that they ask the cab to be slow, slow enough that it would cause traffic, slow enough that that the house won't break into pieces. It's understandable, but where's the proof? I used to take a cab from SM Sta. Mesa-Home(Novaliches, Caloocan City) and it would take 300-400-pesos depending on the traffic. This splat made our section divide into sections. This made me believe that "A thousand of right can be sucked in one hole". Now, our section will never the cooperation ever.

Nuff' said. -CrischelleA.
